Drive-In Pallet Racking is a high-density storage system where the forklift enters the rack itself, placing pallets on continuous rails deep into each lane. It's the most space-efficient racking type for warehouses that hold large quantities of a small number of SKUs — including cold storage, food, beverage and seasonal stock.

Drive-In Racking removes the aisles between every rack row — the forklift uses the storage lanes themselves as its access path. For SKUs that hold in high pallet quantities, that can double or triple density versus selective racking in the same footprint.

How It Works

Understanding Drive-In Racking

Pallets rest on horizontal rails inside deep storage lanes. In drive-in configuration, the lane has a single entry point and pallets rotate LIFO. In drive-through configuration, the lane is open at both ends and rotates FIFO — the choice depends on your SKU rotation strategy.
